The Kerala government has offered to pay for the return air fare of its nurses stranded in strife-torn Iraq. The onus of bringing back the nurses safely is on the Centre, but if it does not foot the travel bill, the state is ready to pay for the return tickets, according to Kerala minister for diaspora welfare KC Joseph.
?We have been communicating with the Centre over the safe return of five nurses from Habeba in Iraq,? he told the state Assembly in reply to a submission on the future of the nurses in the conflict area.
