Apropos of the editorial ‘Botching up Telangana’ (FE, February 20), the haste with which the Telangana Bill has been passed is unprecedented, unwarranted and uncalled for. Article 3 of the Constitution states that the views of the state legislature regarding creation of a separate state should be given due consideration. Though the Andhra legislature objected to the creation of a separate Telangana, the Centre passed the Bill forcibly, with an eye on electoral gains in the forthcoming polls.
