A man was wounded when four persons fired at him with the intent to kill at Mota Bharda village of Waghodia taluka in Vadodara late on Friday night. According to police, the incident appears to have been the result of an internal rivalry between two groups. The injured, Kantibhai Vasava (40) was rushed to Vadodara's SSG Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. According to the police, four persons arrived at Vasava's house around 2 am on Saturday and called for him. When Vasava came out, the four, led by a Raising Bajiya, reportedly entered into an argument with him and then Bajiya fired at him using an improvised firearm. He then fled the spot. Injured Vasava was rushed to Vadodara civil hospital in an ambulance and his condition is now said to be stable. An FIR has been filed at Waghodia police station early on Saturday morning, and the police are investigating the matter. Nobody has, however, been arrested so far, police said. Mota Bharda is located around 8 km from Waghodia town. “The man, who has been named in the FIR as the prime suspect, lives in the same village. The two parties had some old enmity that led to the clash. We are looking at various angles to the crime and trying to track down the culprits who has escaped,” police said.
