BJP bays for Arup Patnaik blood, says 'promotion' is an insult to public

The Congress-NCP government in Maharashtra had insulted the public sentiment by "promoting" Mumbai Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik, state BJP said today.

"Home Minister R R Patil has claimed that government has promoted Patnaik considering his good work," state BJP spokesperson Madhav Bhandari said here.

Arup Patnaik has been promoted to DG rank and will be MD Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation.

We plan to have one more DG rank officer from non-cadre. In my case, there is no vacancy. Current incumbents in both posts are doing well," Patil told reporters.

He was apparently referring to Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and his
