Marriott International in association with City Mall 36 Group is planning to launch Renaissance by Mariott in Raipur. The new property will be Mariott’s entry into Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh.
Speaking exclusively to Financial Express Online, Sanjay Gupta, managing director, City Mall 36 Group, said, “We are extremely happy to be associate with the Marriott International. We are planning to launch Renaissance by Marriott in Raipur which will be in close proximity to the Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur. The new property will be fully operational by mid 2015.”
The total investment of the new property will be approximately INR 150 crore and will be a 180 room hotel. This new projects will be City Mall 36 Group’s second venture with the Marriott International.
Recently, the Chhatitsgarh based group has launched Courtyard by Marriott, Bilaspur. This property is the first five star property in Bilaspur, a major city in Chhattisgarh.
Dr Raman Singh, chief minister, Chhattisgarh, said, “There was a need for a five star hotel in Bilaspur. City Mall 36 Group and Marriott has been successful in bridging this gap. We are very proud to have such a state-of-the-art hotel in Bilaspur. Surely, this is a milestone in the development of our state.”
Speaking about the new property, Rajeev Menon, area vice president, South-Asia, Marriott International, said, “Marriott is very proud of its association with the City Mall 36 Group. Courtyard brand is the fastest growing brand for us. This new property is the 956th courtyard globally and 11th in India. We have an extensive feasible study in this region and found out that Bilaspur has a big potential, due to the industrial belts around.”
The new property is a 106 room hotel with a total investment of INR 106 crore.
