Mercedes Benz breaks all records: Bags largest luxury car order from Carzonrent

Mercedes Benz India has created history by bagging the biggest order of luxury C-Class sedans.

Mercedes Benz India, the third largest luxury automaker in India, has created history by bagging the biggest order of luxury C-Class sedans. Carzonrent, the largest car hire company in the country, has ordered this huge amount of luxury cars to expand its current fleet, thus making it the biggest single corporate deal in India till date. Carzonrent currently operates in over 100 locations in the country and looking at the increasing demand of such cars, it aims to expand its current fleet size to 30,000 by 2017.

Mercedes Benz is certainly buoyed as well as extremely proud with this move. CEO and Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz India, Mr. Eberhand Kern said that Mercedes has been the prime luxury car brand for most of the top notch corporate houses in the world. This unique approach by Carzonrent shows the growing preference of this brand by exclusive customers who lead a global lifestyle and prefer luxury and comfort while traveling.

Mercedes Benz C-Class is one of best products from company’s stable. The order is for the C 220 CDI diesel model which has a powerful 2.2L 4-cylinder engine that produces 170bhp and 396Nm of peak torque mated to 7-speed automatic transmission system. The car is known for reduced fuel consumption and delivering high power output and torque for the dynamic driving experience. Moreover, the fuel efficiency rated at 14.84kmpl will certainly works in the favor of the buyer. As per the acceleration, it reaches the milestone of 100kmph from complete stop in 8.5 seconds of time attaining the top speed of 228kmph.

Now the curious questions arises, why only the C-Class? The most substantial feature of this car which makes it distinct from the others is the 5/5 star safety rating from EuroNCAP. Its reinforced body structure and best in class safety features like multiple airbags, intelligent light system, 60 electronic support system, Attention assist, Hill start assist and enhanced fog lamps, etc. makes it class apart.

The exteriors are charismatic with front facade boasting of radiator grille, Bi-Xenon lamps equipped with intelligent light system and the LED daytime running lights for the sports quotient. Further, the front has loads of chrome applied while the revamped bumpers and the rounded fog lamps and air dam marking a daunting presence. The 17inch twin spoke alloy wheels, electrically foldable mirrors and the sloping roof gives it sporty aerodynamic look, while the rear is finished with LED based tailights and the adaptive brake lights that shimmers.

Interiors of the car once again is designed taking in mind the quality and sophistication for which German engineering is known for. Besides the superior quality upholstery which ranges from Nappa leather to brown ashwood and aluminum, the comfort strength is defined with plenty of legroom, headroom and shoulder room. One of the CDI variant is also offered with burr-walnut wood upholstery. The dashboard of C-Class is mature and better finished with colored instrument cluster and the dials of the air-vents and multimedia system getting silver polishing. The steering wheel is three pointed with spot-on ergonomics and the tons of mounted controls are offered to go hands-free. Other features and utilities which are noteworthy include parking sensors, starts stop system, panoramic sunroof and manually operated sunblinds, etc.

The price of Mercedes Benz CDI 220 starts at INR 30.35 lakhs and the top end model comes at a price tag of INR 40.57 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). So its a huge order from Carzonrent and in India where Mercedes-Benz products are now becoming a top priority for affluent customers, its a strong assertion for company’s impeccable equity.

Mr. Rajiv Vij, the Managing Director of Carzonrent said that the segment of personal ground transport has been going through outstanding phase and has seen rapid growth in recent years. He also added that company would like to continue with the growing momentum and create an unsurpassed luxury experience for the prospective clients. With the addition of 120 new CDI cars, Carzonrent current fleet is now totaled to 800 cars. Also, company is planning to invest Rs. 100 crores in the present FY to fortify its luxury car convoy which will help it reach every nook and corner of the country.
