Seven boys allegedly kidnapped a 15-year-old girl and gangraped her in Civil Lines area of Muzaffarnagar district on Wednesday. Five of the accused were arrested on Thursday. The medical examination confirmed the rape, said SHO Kamal Singh Yadav.
Muzaffarnagar Additional SP Raj Kamal Yadav said that the victim’s father, who lodged the complaint, told the police that his daughter had gone to the market when some youths dragged her into a Maruti van near Shikshak Colony around noon. Later, she was dropped near her locality around 3 pm.
The SHO said the victim told her parents that Sonu Pal of Jaswantpuri locality in Civil Lines area had abducted her along with his friends Praveen, Ravi, Nitin, Aashu and Subhash. They took her to a tubewell, owned by their friend Sunil at Tikri village in Nai Mandi area. There, seven boys raped the girl.
The SHO said that the primary investigation showed that the girl knew Sonu Pal and he took her to the tubewell where he and his friends allegedly raped her.
2 girls attacked for resisting sexual harassment
A 15-year-old girl was set on fire while another girl was stabbed for resisting sexual harassment in Farrukhabad and Fatehpur districts. While the first incident took place Wednesday and the accused arrested on Thursday, the other incident took place Thursday morning and the accused was yet to be traced.
In Farrukhabad, police said one Shravan Singh in Fatehgarh allegedly barged into house of a 15-year-old girl when she was alone, poured kerosene on her, set her on fire and escaped. The girl suffered about 60 per cent burns. The accused was arrested Thursday morning.
In Fatehpur district, police said one Vijay of Karera village in Lalauli area stabbed an 18-year-old girl when she had gone to the fields. The victim told the police that the youth tried to molest her and stabbed her in the head and neck when she resisted and raised an alarm. While the accused escaped, the victim’s condition is stated to be stable, police said.
