Missing case diary and papers of Salman Khan’s hit and run case found

A while back we had reported that the case diary of Salman Khan’s 2002 hit and run case had mysteriously gone missing. In fact the police had stated that the case diary including 56 of the 63 case related documents have since been misplaced, following which the court had given the police time till September 12 to locate the missing documents.

Now as mysteriously as their disappearance, the case papers, diary and witness statements were found. The said documents were recovered from the office of an inspector. Commenting on the find the police have explained that it was the inspector’s junior staff who kept the paper in the room, and that their absence was not a deliberate act.

Further adding that despite it being a human error, an inquiry will be done into how the documents went missing and the guilty will face action for negligence. Simultaneously, the police have also requested the government to appoint special public prosecutor in the case.
