Mixed conditions developed on the local kirana market today as select spices rose on the back of pick up in demand while a few others remained weak on adequate supplies.
Marketmen said rising demand due to marriage season led to rise in in select spices.
Adequate supplies positions against lack of buying support mainly helped other spices to trade lower, they said.
In the national capital, cardamom small varieties such as chitridar, colour robin, bold and extra bold were up by Rs 5 each to Rs 745-845, Rs 745-885, Rs 735-795 and Rs 925-1,045 per kg respectively. Dhania moved up by Rs 100 to Rs 6,900-9,400 per quintal.
Poppyseed (Turkey), (MP-RAJ) and (Kashmiri) were also inched up by Rs 5 each to Rs 305-315, Rs 315-365 and Rs 315 per kg respectively.
On the other hand, black pepper fell by Rs 20 to Rs 420-550 per kg. Turmeric, jeera common and best eased by Rs 100 each to Rs 6400-9600, Rs 14,500-14,600 and Rs
17,200-17,600 per quintal respectively on adequate supplies.
