Finance minister Arun Jaitley will begin his consultations with different interest groups and stakeholders from Thursday ahead his maiden Budget in the first week of July.
The much-anticipated Budget will also be the first major policy document of the Narendra Modi government and will spell out the direction for the economy.
Jaitley will start with meeting the representatives of the farm sector and social sector at his chambers in North Block. Throughout June, he will meet various interest groups and representatives of trade, industry and infrastructure bodies, financial services and state finance ministers.
Among the dates confirmed are for industry bodies like Ficci, CII, and Assocham on the evening of June 6 and for heads of private and state-owned banks on June 10, according to sources.
