Over 140 flights were cancelled and diverted at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport between Sunday evening and Monday morning as the worst fog in four years rendered travel plans awry. Meanwhile, another 37 flights departing from ? and 188 flights arriving at ? IGI were also delayed, sources said.
?Flight diversions were mainly to Lucknow, Jaipur and Amritsar. Yesterday, visibility had dipped sharply after 8 PM. However, today visibility has been fairly okay after 9 AM,? an IGI airport official said.
Jet Airways was among the worst-hit, with nearly 25 flight delays and several cancellations.
While the IGI airport is CAT III B-compliant, the minimum visibility on Monday morning had dropped even below the minimum.
