Karishma Initiative has bagged the media duties of ADD Gel Pens, a manufacturer and exporter of writing instruments. The advertising spends of the business is pegged at Rs 17 crore. Earlier, the media duties of ADD Pens were handled by Prachar Communications Ltd. However, 81 YOE, a Mumbai-based agency takes care of the creative duties for ADD Pens. The portfolio of ADD Pens include a range of roller pens such as Add Pinxit, Roll Tech, Symphony and the Diamond Roller.

Danone assigns creative biz to Rediffusion Y&R

According to news reports, Rediffusion Y&R has won the creative duties for Danone, the French dairy brand, which has made an independent entry into India. The media duties have fallen in OMD’s kitty. Danone’s ad spend is estimated at Rs 50 crore for 2010. However, till March 2010, the group will spend around Rs 15 crore on advertising and marketing. So far, Danone is visible in India through Evian, the mineral water brand, and dairy products, Actimel and Activia.

Mudra West wins Lonely Planet?s creative account

Mudra West has bagged the creative duties for the Lonely Planet Magazine in India.The agency is all set to help the Worldwide Media Group launch the monthly travel magazine here. Recently, it had won the creative duties for Filmfare. After the UK and Brazil, Worldwide Media Group is launching its magazine in India. The magazine will guide the Indian travellers. Lonely Planet magazine is Mudra West’s third win from the Worldwide Media Group stable. It handles Femina and Filmfare too.

Vehrnon Ibrahim bids adieu to Radio One

Vehrnon Ibrahim, vice-president, programming, Radio One, the joint venture between Mid-Day Multimedia and BBC Worldwide, has put in his papers. He had joined Radio One in March 2008. According to reports, Ibrahim will join Radio Today Broadcasting’s Meow FM as national programming head. Ibrahim joined Radio One from Red FM, where he was national programming director.

He joined Red FM in 2001 and had a sever-year stint. Before that, he had a three year stint at Radio Indigo and also at InnoMedia as creative director.

Anand Siva to head Cequity?s new unit, CIM

Anand Siva has joined Cequity, a provider of data-led marketing services, which is part of the RK Swamy?Hansa Group. He would head CIM (Customer Integrated Marketing),the company?s forthcoming unit. He comes from Saatchi & Saatchi, Mumbai where he was vice-president and branch head. Siva has an experience of over two decades in mainstream advertising as well as below-the-line advertising. He started his career with Akshara Advertising, Chennai in 1987 and he was promoted to chief operating officer. He worked on Intel for about eight years. Some of the other clients he has worked for are Nortel, Fresh & Honest Caf?, Indian Airlines and Siva PCs.

Bates 141 appoints Vaasu Gavarasana

Bates 141 has announced the appointment of Vaasu Gavarasana as executive vice-president at its Delhi office. Gavarasana started his career in 1990 with Ogilvy Direct, Bangalore. Before joining Bates 141, he was a new media entrepreneur in Singapore. He has over two decades of experience with McCann & Lintas working on brands such as Unilever Detergents, Britannia, Timex, Nestle, Johnson & Johnson, MasterCard, Lufthansa and F&N. He has worked with TBWA India too.
