'Juvenile' accused — While the police say he is 19 years old, his grandmother claims that he is 16 years old and has his birth certificate to back her claim. Locals in Sane Guruji Nagar in Mahalaxmi’s Dhobi Ghat say he is part of a gang involved in petty thefts at Mahalaxmi railway station.
Vijay Jadhav — Until a year ago, 18-year-old Jadhav lived close to the juvenile accused in Sane Guruji Nagar.
