Raising serious objections to the use of ?foreign? social media platforms by government ministries and departments, RSS ideologue K N Govindacharya informed the Delhi High Court that the Narendra Modi regime was ?violating the provisions of the Public records Act?.
In the last few weeks, several key Union ministries have opened official twitter accounts, and ministers in the NDA government, including PM Modi, were seen fairly active on Twitter. Various departments also have facebook pages, and use Gmail accounts.
Govindacharya had filed a writ petition in the Delhi HC in 2012 regarding security of data on Internet sites based abroad and the alleged violation of tax laws by various websites.
During arguments before the court of Justices Badar Durrez Ahmed and Siddharth Mridul on Friday, advocate Viraag Gupta, appearing for Govindacharya, argued that use of foreign Internet platforms for official communication by government ministries and ministers resulted in a situation where official communications were being accessed by foreign companies and governments.
