It will take no less than Narendra Modi performing yoga under his tutelage for Baba Ramdev to forgive the BJP for not fielding any of the 30-odd candidates he suggested. Modi will join Ramdev?s Yoga Mahotsav at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday. Ramdev on his part is ready to go to Varanasi to campaign for BJP?s prime ministerial nominee and denies any differences with the BJP over candidates.
?Modiji will come to Ramlila and do yoga to honour the highest traditions of India where the king and people follow the path of spirituality in unison. This is to dispel the myth that India is a religion-neutral country,? he said. The BJP, he added, will soon give a written commitment to the economic agenda he had unveiled some time back at Talkatora Stadium. Asked if he is ready to campaign for Modi in Varanasi, he said: ?Why not.?
Ramdev has been sounding public warnings to the BJP about how the party is becoming overconfident. Sources say he was upset because the BJP paid little heed to the list of candidates he had submitted but Ramdev denied it.
He put up a strong defence of Modi?s decision to fight from two seats saying that it is an ?emotional decision, not a political one?.
