Brainchild of the visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat Forensic Science University (GFSU), an university established by the Government of Gujarat, under the flagship of Home Department, Government of Gujarat, took a major step forward in the direction of association with private sector expertise in the field of joint research and academics pertaining to cyber security and digital forensics. On 2nd June 2014, GFSU signed a MoU with its recognized research center, eSF LABS, Hyderabad. On 25th August 2009, then Gujarat CM, Narendra Modi had inaugurated GFSU, a super specialty university dealing in the field of digital forensics and cyber security education. GFSU is India?s first and the only exclusive forensics sciences university offering a wide range of courses in forensics which are at par with international standards.
Considering the dearth of Cyber Security expertise to protect national critical infrastructure and classified information from future cyber attacks, GFSU has launched a proactive measure by announcing M. Tech. Cyber Security & Incident Response course. To impart a professional edge to the academics, GFSU has signed a MoU with eSF LABS, which has high tech cyber defense technology knowledge to combat cyber crime.
On the event of signing of MoU with eSF LABS, Dr. J.M Vyas, Director General of GFSU and FSL, Government of Gujarat, expressed that ?the mutual exchange of ideas between university and private sector will lead to develop a force of highly specialized professionals in the field of cyber security who can serve our nation in the area of cyber defense.
?For the first year of operation, we are starting the M. Tech Cyber Security & Incident Response course with a limited 50 seats in order to give emphasis on quality and will encourage working professionals from corporate and government sector to join this course. 20th June will be the last date to accept the application forms. In the next phase we will focus on Ph. D programs leading to core research in the areas of Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, Incident Response and Information Assurance,? explained Dr. M.S Dahiya, Director, IFS, GFSU.
Anisetti, CEO and Dr. Mhatre, CFO of M/s. eSF LABS said that their research center facility has been recognized by GFSU, Government of Gujarat to conduct services, research programs for GFSU. We have team of experts in core areas of Cyber Security research such as Malware Analysis, Digital Forensics, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and are geared up to associate with GFSU in undertaking international research assignments for GFSU,? they further added.
