City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), the nodal agency for the Navi Mumbai International Airport project, will float requests for qualification (RFQ) for the construction of the airport early next week, a senior government official said on Thursday. A joint committee under the state?s chief secretary, which includes CIDCO, has finalised the RFQ that will be sent to the ministry of civil aviation by Friday. ?The civil aviation ministry has assured us that it will approve the RFQ in 3-4 days,? Sanjay Bhatia, vice-chairman and managing director of CIDCO said at the Express Group?s Idea Exchange programme. ?We will be inviting tenders as soon as we get the clearance,? he added. The first phase of the R14,574 crore airport project, which was first put on paper 27 years ago, is now expected to be completed by December 2017.
