Need for minimum govt, maximum governance: Uday S Kotak

Kotak Mahindra Bank executive vice-chairman and managing director Uday S Kotak on Saturday launched the full-time residential integrated company secretaryship course at ICSI Centre for Corporate Governance Research and Training (ICSI-CCGRT) at Navi Mumbai.

In his inaugural address, Kotak said, “There is need for minimum government and maximum governance and the company secretary is one such pillar that can deliver maximum governance?. He said combining entrepreneurship and professionalism was crucial and ICSI had a vital role to play in the same. In his address, BSE MD & CEO Ashish Kumar Chauhan said, ?In this fast moving society CS plays a role of Lord Krishna to Arjuna.?

Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) president R Sridharan said the full-time company secretaryship course is a knowledge initiative of the ICSI for developing well rounded governance professionals.

The course is an interactive programme focusing on experiential learning and combining class room lectures, discussions, class exercises and case studies.
