A record 23.62 lakh people took the Delhi Metro on July 1, DMRC officials said on Tuesday. This beats the previous high of 23.32 lakh commuters that was recorded on June 18.
Officials said the record figure did not include the 10,300 persons who used the Airport Metro on July 1. Monday was the first day that the DMRC operated the Airport Metro line, after Reliance Infra pulled out.
The highest number of commuters was recorded on the Dwarka-Noida line, with a ridership of over 9.25 lakh commuters, while the Jahangirpuri-HUDA City Centre line saw a ridership of 8.6 lakh commuters.
