A 'Walk for Unity' has been organised in Chicago city of United States, where members of the Indian community will take part in a formal walk on January 26, to show solidarity with the Gujarat government's attempt to build a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The walk organised by US-based Overseas Friends of BJP and Global Indians for Bharat Vikas will be held at noon at Devon Avenue. More than 500 Indians will be participating in this walk in spite of the freezing temperatures, stated an official release from Gujarat government on Tuesday.
The release added that participants have been advised to walk, instead of running, because of the extreme cold and icy conditions prevailing in the city.
