The steering group appointed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to speed up infrastructure investment has set a time frame to take intermediate steps for key infrastructure projects, an official statement said on Thursday. While nine of the major infrastructure projects are to be awarded this year, the deadline for awarding eight more projects is set for the last quarter of the current fiscal, reports fe Bureau in New Delhi. The deadline for the award date of the Mumbai rail corridor project is January 31, 2014, while that of loco projects is 30 January. Similarly, authorities have to announce the award date for Eastern Peripheral Expressway by December 31, while the deadline for the Delhi-Meerut Expressway is March 15. The Mumbai-Vadodora Expressway has a deadline of March 1.
