The Rail Tariff Authority (RTA) might take some time to become a reality as the proposal is still with Prime Minister’s Office and will be sent to the Cabinet only after the PMO gets comments from various ministries
?The tariff authority proposal is with the PMO, which seeking views from various ministries. Only after receiving comments from different ministries the proposal will be placed before the Cabinet,? railway minister Mallikarjun Kharge said on Friday.
The cash-strapped national transporter, which has a backlog of 350 projects worth R 2 lakh crore, will seek more funds from the finance ministry.
