EVEN though his ministry — Ministry of Information Technology — is mandated to oversee the functioning of the online world, Kapil Sibal, who is also the Law Minister, does not have personal online presence so far. But, this could change soon. The minister is all set to have his own website, which will have material about, among other aspects, his work as a lawyer. However, it remains to be seen if the minister will go the whole hog and also join the Twitter. Top post of director general of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) may go to 1977 batch IPS officer from Assam-Meghalaya cadre Subhas Goswami. The post is lying vacant for past one and half months after the retirement of Ajay Chadha. It was first speculated that Sanjeev Dayal, another 1977 batch IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre will take over as DG but after Dayal refused the top job, the Ministry of Home Affairs is learnt to have processed the application of Goswami, who was presently posted as director of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. Goswami is likely to be replaced by P N Dixit, a 1977 batch IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre, as director of NPA.
