Ashok alias Anil Devadiga, an alleged aide of gangster Ravi Pujari, reached Mumbai Friday after he was deported by Dubai police. He is in the custody of Mumbai Police Crime Branch and will be produced in court Saturday. Devadiga was arrested by Dubai police after a tip-off from Interpol.
In February, he was detained at the airport while on his way to Malaysia in February this year and the Indian government was informed. His extradition process began subsequently. Devadiga was allegedly operating from Dubai since 2011. He was earlier active in western Mumbai and has several extortion cases as well as a murder case against him, police said.
