Market regulator Sebi called for putting in place a system to ensure safeguards in high frequency ?Algo? trading which is prone to information asymmetry and, thus, increased volatility in the overall market. Algorithmic or ?algo? trading refers to orders generated at super-fast speed by using advanced mathematical models that involve automated execution of trade, and is mostly used by large institutional investors.
BSE to move 41 stocks to ?T? group, NSE to shift nine
BSE and NSE have decided to move securities of various companies to the restricted trading category from January 31 to safeguard investors and market. BSE will transfer 41 stocks to the ?T? Group and NSE will shift nine securities to the segment, the bourses said in separate notifications on Monday. Only delivery-based transactions are allowed in this segment and traders can’t take intra-day positions.
