Suzlon Group, which recently bought the Big Sky Wind Farm in Illinois from Edison Mission Energy, has sold it to EverPower Wind Holdings. “Suzlon Group announced the strategic sale of the 240 MW Big Sky Wind Farm in Illinois to EverPower Wind Holdings,” the company said in a statement without disclosing the value of the sale. Suzlon Group had recently acquired the Big Sky wind farm from Edison Mission Energy via its fully owned US-based subsidiary Suzlon Wind Energy Corp, the statement said.

R Chandrasekaran named Nasscom chief for 2014-15

The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) has announced that R Chandrasekaran, executive vice-chairman, Cognizant India, has been appointed as chairman for 2014-15. He succeeds Krishnakumar Natarajan, CEO and MD of Mindtree, who served as chairman in 2013-14. Nasscom has also announced the appointment of BVR Mohan Reddy, founder and CMD, Infotech Enterprises, as vice-chairman of Nasscom for 2013-14.

NCC proposes to raise up to R650 cr via rights issue

NCC has proposed to raise up to R650 crore through a rights issue of equity shares to the existing shareholders of the company. In a notice to the BSE, the company said the proposal is subject to the requisite statutory and regulatory approvals and other consents/approvals as may be necessary. The board of directors, in a recent meeting, approved raising of funds upto an amount of R650 crore through a rights issue.

Indian software market grows 10% in 2013

The software market in India grew 10% to $4.76 billion in 2013, driven by strong adoption of cloud or subscription-based services, research firm Gartner said. The software market stood at $4.334 billion in 2012. “The Indian software industry is in the middle of a multi-year cyclical transition as organisations are focusing investments on technologies to support existing system structure,” Gartner Research Director Bhavish Sood said in a statement.

VW achieves milestone of exporting 50,000 cars

Volkswagen India has achieved the milestone of exporting 50,000 cars from its Pune plant. The 50,000th car ? a left-hand drive Vento ? was shipped to Mexico.

Since exports from India started in 2011, Volkswagen has ramped up volumes. Exports first started to South Africa, which was the only export market initially, but now Volkswagen India exports to 32 countries across three continents.
