Bajaj Auto records highest ever Dec sale

Bajaj Auto has recorded its highest ever sales in December 2012. The country's second-largest two wheeler maker reported a 13% jump in its motorcycle sales at 2,98,350 units in December 2012. The company sold 2,63,699 bikes in the same period in 2011. It sold 45,596 commercial vehicles in the same month as against 41,991 vehicles in the previous year, an increase of 9%. The company also sold 343,946 vehicles in 2012 as against 305,690 vehicles the previous year, up by 13%. The companys Q3 sales at 1.42 lakh vehicles were the highest ever for any quarter, Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto said.

Ashok Leyland December sales slide by 19%

Ashok Leyland reported a 19% decline in its December 2012 sales to 7,299 units as compared to 9,048 units sold in same month in 2011. This, despite a 88% growth in its LCV Dost sales of 2,069 units (1,099 units in December 2011). The M&HCV sales during the month fell to 5,230 units (7,949 units). However, for the nine months period ending December 2012, all sales grew 21% to 79,990 units as compared to 66,321 units sold in the same period last financial year.

TVS Motor sales dip marginally in December

TVS Motor reported a fall in its December 2012 sales to 156,221 units as against 170,428 units in the same period last year. The company registered total two-wheeler sales of 151,735 units in December 2012 as against 167,905 units in 2011. Domestic sales stood at 134,566 units as against 146,747 units in 2011. Motorcycle sales grew 6% with sales of 60,210 units in December 2012.

HMSI December sales up 14%

Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India reported 13.59% growth in its total sales for December 2012 at 2,17,612 units. The company's total sales stood at 1,91,584 units in the corresponding month of the previous year.

Renault wraps 2012 on a high, hits new mark

Auto major Renault India achieved sales crossing the 35,000-mark to touch 35,052 units for the calendar year 2012, including December sales of 5,924 units. The company clocked 1,401 units in 2011(between June and December 2011) and had offered only two models as against five now.
