Battle lines in poll-bound Rajasthan were drawn with the BJP launching an attack on Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot with a ‘black paper’ and a video CD meant to highlight Congress “misrule” in the state. The 100-page document issued by BJP state unit chief Vasundhara Raje Saturday alleges the ruling government’s involvement in 100 scams.
The alleged scams cited in the document implicate 18 existing and previous ministers of the Congress government as well as Gehlot’s relatives. Senior leader Kirit Somaiya said the “black paper” comprises 31 cases in which the court has taken cognisance or a complaint has been registered with the police.
He said that despite repeated complaints to President Pranab Mukherjee, Rajasthan governor Margaret Alva, Lokayukta and chief secretary, no action has been taken against the irregularities and neither has the government responded to the allegations.
The alleged scams include Robert Vadra’s land deals in Bikaner, allotment of mining leases to Gehlot’s relatives in Jodhpur, Kalisindh dam project, Udaisagar lake and Udaipur five star hotel project and the Jal Mahal scam.
