State-run (RINL) today reported 5 per cent rise in turnover in November to Rs 1,085 crore over the same month last year.
The Vizag-based firm had clocked Rs 1,028 crore turnover in November, 2011, it said in a statement.
"The iron and steel sales volume registered a growth of six per cent during the month. Pig Iron sales also registered a growth of 48 per cent," it added.
RINL said it has intensified thrust for higher sales through its rural network which saw a growth of 59 per cent during the month.
"On the production front also, crude steel recorded a growth of three per cent supported by a growth in production of hot metal and saleable steel," the company said.
The steel maker said its production, which was gettingaffected due to scarcity of power supply from Andhra Pradesh government, is now likely to improve.
"Own captive generation has also picked up with more availability of thermal coal from Coal India," it said.
