What does success mean to you?
Success to me is hard work, hard work and more hard work. It depends on how you see situations through your eyes and your state of mind at that particular time and face it. Something that can be success for someone can be a failure for the other. Success is based on my personal dreams and allowing it to manifest through proper dedication. Success can be defined as the difficult challenges that made me the person I am today.
What is your biggest strength?
I close my eyes and believe in myself. My family, gurus and God give me the inner strength to fulfill my dreams. Most of the times I am out for work … the understanding and trust we have for one another is remarkable. I think the most memorable moment was the day my daughter Varshika was born. I recorded her first cry. In fact, it is played in one of the tracks in my new album Mahaleela. I played bells, ghungaroos as she entered the world. Another moment would have to be the day I saw my wife at the Durban airport and felt ?Oh God, she?s the one!?
What?s your stress buster?
Music is my meditation, my relaxation ? it?s everything for me. I can just go on beating my drums ? till God wants me to stop! I am just too attached to my drums. I also like spending time with my parents, my gurus (both spiritual and in the field of music).
God to you is?
God to me is a feeling of complete surrender. It is feeling of goodness that revives my tired mind and body. It is a source of positive energy. But it is very difficult to define it. Sometimes I think it is all about being philosophical about one?s life and existence in this world.
