Rice basmati prices drifted by Rs 300 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today on sluggish demand against increased supplies.
Bajra and maize also eased on reduced offtake.
Traders said subdued demand against increased supplies mainly pulled down rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety eased to Rs 6,000-6,100 and Rs 5,300-6,300 against last close of Rs 6,300-6,400 and Rs 5,500-6,600 per quintal, respectively.
Non-basmati rice permal raw, wand and sela also moved down by Rs 50 each to Rs 1,950-2,050, Rs 2,200-2,250, Rs 2,450-2,650 per quintal, respectively.
Bajra and maize also weakened by Rs 20 each to Rs 1,230-1,235 and Rs 1,410-1,430 per quintal, respectively.
The following are today’s quotations per quintal: Wheat MP (deshi) 2,000-2,200, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,530-1,540, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,540-1,550, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 195, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 195, Roller flour mill 840-860 (50 kg), Maida 950- 70 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,000-1,050 (50kg).
