Indian Railways has seen a jump of 23.76% in commodity wise freight revenue during April-October 2012.
The Railways generated R47,063.59 crore of revenue from commodity-wise freight traffic during April-October 2012 against Rs 37,392.97 crore during the year-ago period, registering an increase of 25.86%. Railways carried 565.37 million tonne of commodity-wise freight traffic during April-October 2012 against 536.92 million tonnes carried during the corresponding period last year.
