The appointment of Rohan Murty as executive assistant to Infosys chairman NR Narayana Murthy has been cleared with the ministry of corporate affairs stating that its approval would not be necessary.
Infosys had put in an application with the government in this regard in June.
In a statement, Infosys said, “The application was filed as a matter of abundant caution and the MCA has informed us that their approval isn’t required.”
“Rohan Murty is a part of the chairman’s office as an executive assistant to Narayana Murthy. His term as executive assistant to the chairman is co-terminus with that of Murthy. Rohan Murty is being paid a token compensation of Rs 1 per year as requested by him,” the statement said.
