Salman Khan’s Kick’ box office collections, which have already turned it into the highest grosser of 2014, continues to enjoy a good run, reaching a whopping Rs 164 crore in its first week.
According to trade analyst, Kick’s business at box office include, Rs 26.40 crore on Friday, Rs 27.15 crore on Saturday, Rs 30.18 crore on Sunday, Rs 14.41 crore on Monday, Rs 28.89 crore Tuesday, followed by Rs 21.66 crore and 15.4 crore on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
The box office collections of ‘Kick’, also starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, are set to soar further as it will remain unopposed since there is no new release this Friday.
‘Kick’ collections have shown a massive jump since its release on July 25, minting never reached before heights this year. Compared to other big ticket grossers, ‘Kick’ was the fastest to generate nearly Rs 150 crore, beating lifetime collections of Salman Khan’s earlier film ‘Jai Ho’ that collected Rs 116 crore, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty’ (Rs 112.45 crore), Sidharth Malhotra-Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Ek Villain’ (Rs 10.5.62 crore) and Alia Bhatt’s 2 States (Rs 102.13 crore).
Sajid Nadiadwala’s directorial debut opened with the year’s best Rs 26.40 crore in Day 1 box office collections and also closed the opening weekend with Rs 83.83 crore, a record among its peers in 2014.
When it comes to the coveted Rs 100 crore club, superstar Salman Khan has always had an edge over the largest number of 100 crore films. beating contemporaries like Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.
With a huge fan base, the Dabaang star remains untouchable at the top of the list with seven 100 crore films under his belt for doing what he does best on screen ? entertain!
Apart from ‘Kick’ Salman’s other Rs 100-crore hits include ‘Jai Ho’ (Rs 116 crore), ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (Rs 198.78 crore), ‘Dabangg 2’ (Rs 155.00 crore), ‘Bodyguard’ (Rs 148.86 crore), Ready (Rs 119.78 crore) and Dabangg (Rs 138.88 crore).
