‘Ek Villain’ reviewLoving the bad guy

?The weekend business of ‘Ek Villain’ has been incredible, which has come as a shocker for many within the industry. Keeping in mind its star cast, the budget and the screen count (2,539 screens in the domestic market), the weekend numbers of ‘Ek Villain’ are at par with any big-budget film starring an A-lister that gets an extensive release (3500+ screens in the domestic market),? said trade analyst Taran Adarsh.?

?The very first promo of the ‘Ek Villain’ had created enormous curiosity for the film. Mohit Suri, who had just delivered a blockbuster in AASHIQUI-2, had enormous responsibility on his shoulders and he had to prove he could deliver numbers without the backing of Bhatts. What’s more, while AASHIQUI was a brand, ‘Ek Villain’ wasn’t. In addition, his decision to cast two relative newcomers (Sidharth and Shraddha) and an actor synonymous with comedies (Riteish) in the role of a cold-blooded murderer raised eyebrows. But fortune favors the brave?,? Adarsh added

The tremendous hype that the film had generated prior to its release has resulted in an overwhelming start everywhere.

Despite ’15’ rating by Censors, ‘Ek Villain’ also made a bigger start than most biggies in the UK, collecting ?62,905 (Rs 64.33 lakh) on Friday. In Australia also, the film surprised with A$19,592 (Rs 11.08 lakh), tweeted Adarsh.

In a nutshell, ‘Ek Villain’ is expected to be the first choice of cinegoers over the weekend.

In ”Ek Villain”, Sidharth Malhotra?s plays a character with grey shades while Shraddha Kapoor plays his love interest. Riteish Deshmukh also has several grey shades to his character.
