Usually, B-school alumni donate their resources to enhance business research undertaken by campuses. But in a departure, the 1983 batch—the first batch—of SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) has decided to lend its resources to some social projects initiated by students.
Says SPJIMR chairperson (external relations) Abbasali Gabula: “A lot of new perspectives in management can be derived through social projects. And these learnings can be effectively implemented in the business environment. This is why our alumni from the first batch have decided to lend their resources towards such projects.”
For the campus, the initiative will also aid in getting corporate support and pers-pective to effectively implement these projects. Receiving corporate participation for social projects is an objective the campus is yet to accomplish.
“We have also given an open invitation to alumni to come to the institute as faculty and share their practical learnings while deploying these initiatives,” he said.
