Eros International Media Ltd's 'English Vinglish', which released in across 33 screens in Japan on 28th June this year, continues to perform very well, having garnered box office collections of a whopping $1 million till now.

With this announcement, the film inches closer to Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots, (3 idiots life time box office collections in Japan are JPY170,000,000 i.e approx US $ 1.6 million). With an overwhelming response from the audiences and theatres packed to capacity, the film released in another 17 odd screens additionally, taking the total screen count to 50 across 20 cities in Japan.

Sridevi is elated with the dream run of the film and said, “I am flattered with all the love and affection the film continues to receive and once again thank the director Gauri Shinde for making such a wonderful film”.

The film has also met with unprecedented success in other territories like Hong Kong, Germany, Taiwan and Korea.
