The summer placement for the Post-Graduate Programme (2013-15 batch) began at the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad on Friday. The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) was the top recruiter. It made 14 offers, the highest, among the 25 firms that took part on the day one of the placement. Other prominent recruiters included Accenture Management Consulting, AT Kearney, Bain & Company, Barclays, Citi, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Co. and Standard Chartered. US-based Altisource-Ocwen offered multiple roles in investment research at international locations, stated a release from the institute.
Summer internships are an integral part of the PGP programme, under which students will intern with their chosen organisation for 8-9 weeks in April-May 2014 after their first year. The firms that visited the campus on Friday as part of Cluster-1 comprised three cohorts - global strategy consulting, international investment banks and investment management firms. The next leg of industry clusters will be held on November 12, 16 and 19. Following the four clusters, as per the cohort system, summer placements will progress on a rolling basis, wherein firms will conduct their interview processes on weekends. ens
