Tata Communications on Monday reported a net loss of R201 crore for the third quarter ended December due to rise in expenditures. The company had posted a net loss of R153.06 crore in the same period a year ago.
Tata Communications’ consolidated income from operations during the reported quarter increased by 23% to R4,434.11 crore from R3,604.1 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, the company said in a BSE filing.
The expenses of the company increased by 22.3% to R4,373.09 crore during the reported quarter compared with R3,575.07 crore in the same quarter in 2012 fiscal, it said.
The company saw its consolidated income from global voice solutions (GVS) increasing during the quarter, under which it facilitates voice calls like facility for telecom operators.
The income from GVS business of Tata Communications increased by 28% to R2,214.27 crore from R1,727.27 crore in third quarter of 2012 fiscal.
The consolidated income of company from global data and managed services business increased by 21% to R1,738.88 crore during the reported quarter from R1,437.48 crore in the same period a year ago.
Share of the company was trading at R226.8 apiece, up by 1.11%, in the late afternoon session at the BSE.
