Indian IT bellwether Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Tuesday said that it has won a multi-million dollar multi-year deal from energy sector major GDF Suez to standardize and rationalize CRM and billing applications across France, Belgium and the Netherlands
The deal with GDF Suez is Tata Consultancy Services's first major contract in France, after it acquired Alti SA in 2013.
Paris-headquartered GDF Suez is an electric utility firm. It operates in the fields of electricity generation and distribution, natural gas and renewable energy.
"The engagement is to support GDF SUEZ to rationalize and standardize the CRM (customer relationship management) and billing applications across France, Belgium and the Netherlands," said the company in a regulatory filing on the BSE.
"The is the first landmark deal won by its (TCS's) new integrated entity which emerged through its acquisition of Alti SA,” it added.
Tata Consultancy Services had recently unveiled plans to further activate the capabilities and talent pool it had acquired by setting up a new TCS SAP Innovation Centre, the Mumbai-headquartered IT major said.
“The centre will seek to develop cutting edge enterprise solutions for multiple industries, in co-innovation with TCS' customers,” it said adding, “It will be located in the Ile-de-France region and is expected to be operational later in 2014.”
