Following a poor performance in the domestic market, Tata Motors’ Group global wholesale numbers continued to show a declining trend in January 2014. The global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, declined 20.7% to 80,163 vehicles compared with the same period last year. Cumulative wholesale for the fiscal fell 15% to 834,112 units.
The commercial vehicle segment took the larger fall with sales declining 36% to 30,121 vehicles. Cumulative commercial vehicles wholesales fell 24.3% in the fiscal to 366,152 vehicles compared with the same period last year.
Global wholesale of Tata Motors’ vehicles in January 2014 were 11,411, a decline of 27.4% on a year-on-year basis. Cumulative wholesale in the fiscal came down 42% to 120,421 vehicles year-on-year.
Global wholesale for JLR for the month surged 1.2% to 38,631 vehicles compared with the same period last year. Jaguar wholesale for the month were up 4% to 6,711 vehicles compared with the same period last year. Cumulative wholesales for Jaguar surged 49.7% to 64,494 units. Land Rover wholesale for the month remained flat at 31,920 units against 31733 vehicles same period last year.
