Tata Nano ended December on a rough patch with sales hitting year?s low of 554 vehicles, a decline of 75% on a year-on-year basis, the company said in a monthly filing at the BSE on Friday. This decline is despite Tata Motors? initiatives to launch CNG version of Nano in key cities including Delhi and Mumbai in October this year.

For the April-December 2013 period it sold 13,828 vehicles, a decline of 71.9% on a year-on-year basis. April, November and December were particularly bad for Tata Nano as sales fell below the 1,000-mark for small compact cars.

Tata Motors? domestic passenger vehicle sales in December 2013 slipped 34.6% to 9,272 units, compared with the same month a year ago.
