Tata Sons appoints Sunil Sinha resident director, MENA region

Tata Sons today appointed Sunil Sinha as Resident Director, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region.

Tata Sons today appointed Sunil Sinha as Resident Director, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region and announced the intention to establish an office in Dubai for the MENA region, in collaboration with Tata International.

The office?s objective is to further enhance and strengthen Tata Sons? engagement with all stakeholders in the MENA region, facilitating business growth for Tata group companies, especially in focus sectors that are crucial to development in MENA and are of strategic interest to the group, a state Tata Sons said in a statement.

The MENA office will report into Madhu Kannan, Member, Group Executive Council, Tata Sons.

Sinha has been in the Tata group for over 31 years, most recently as the CEO of Tata Quality Management Services (TQMS).

S Padmanabhan appointed Executive Chairman of Tata Quality Management Services

Tata Sons announced the appointment of S. Padmanabhan as Executive Chairman of Tata Quality Management Services (TQMS), reporting to the Chairman of Tata Sons, Mr. Cyrus P Mistry, effective July 1, 2014.

He will be responsible for driving the Business Excellence journey across the Tata group of companies globally. This role will be integral to group initiatives in enhancing the performance of Tata companies through diagnostics, benchmarking and sharing best practices.

Padmanabhan has been with the Tata group for over 32 years, after starting his career with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). He has discharged several senior executive responsibilities across the group. He is the Executive Director ? Operations of Tata Power since 2008 and is responsible for the profitable and sustainable operations of all Tata Power?s thermal and hydro generation plants across India and transmission and distribution systems in Mumbai. He is on the Boards of other companies like Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, Tata Power Trading Company Limited, Industrial Energy Limited, Maithon Power Limited, Powerlinks Transmission Limited, Trust Energy Resources Pte. Ltd, Tata Consulting Engineers and Infiniti Retail.

Prior to joining Tata Power, Padmanabhan was the Executive Director of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). During his 26-year career in TCS, he has held responsible roles such as Director – HR, Head of Software Delivery Centre, Country Head of Switzerland, and CEO of its joint venture with Singapore Airlines. He has wide international experience in project management, customer management and managing a diverse global workforce, and has worked on global assignments for over two decades. He also played a lead role during the TCS IPO and has represented TCS in several external forums.
