Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is looking to hire over 2,000 people in the US for the financial year 2015 in the wake of recent talks around the US Immigration Bill.
?This year, we are likely to hire over 2,000 employees in the US since the talent pool is available and the number will only increase from here. The Bill is likely to have an impact on the number of locals we hire depending on what should be the percentage of local hiring,? said Ajoy Mukherjee, executive vice president and global head of human resources (HR) at TCS. Last year, the company had hired about 1,600 people in the US.
The global HR head at TCS is less concerned about the Bill at this point though he still sees the issue lurking around. ?Last time it was talked about in much more detail. The Bill still has to go through the US House of Representatives and then both Senate and Representatives have to go through it again before it finally goes for the President’s signature. The House, what we have seen, is not seeing this as the top most priority at this point in time,? Mukherjee said.
?The pressure is slightly less but we are still closely watching and seeing what steps we will take and are in a state of readiness,? he added.
