Moments after Telangana Bill was passed in Lok Sabha, Congress MLA from Ramchandrapuram in East Godavari district, Thota Trimurthulu, today resigned from the primary membership of the party to protest against the division of Andhra Pradesh.
He sent his resignation to Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief Botsa Satyanarayana.
"I resigned from party's primary membership along with other activists and leaders of the district Congress to protest against Congress party's decision to divide Andhra Pradesh. We faxed our resignation letters to Botsa Satyanarayana," he said.
The future course of action, after the passage of Telangana Bill in Lok Sabha, would be decided soon, he said.
