The third quarter results of Thermax Limited released on Thursday reported a 20 per cent dip in net profit. The profit before tax for the quarter was Rs 109 crore and profit after tax was realised at Rs 76 crore, a 20 per cent dip from last year’s Rs 95 crore.
The operating revenue for the three quarters was Rs 3,223 crore as compared to Rs 3,617 crore last year.
However, the company managed to double its order intake to Rs 1,284 crore against Rs 590 crore for the quarter in the previous year. The last quarter saw Thermax bagging a contract worth Rs 503 crore EPC order from a leading government enterprise, for setting up a captive power plant for its new three million tonne per annum integrated steel plant in Central India. The company has also commissioned a state-of-the-art bi-drum boiler manufacturing plant at its Savli facility in Gujarat. The plant is dedicated to process heating and co-generation boilers for biomass as well as other fossil fuels.
