One of the most important festivals of Jamaica, Reggae Sumfest is set to take place between July 13- 19, 2014 this year. Jamaica?s second-largest city, Montego Bay is the venue for the Reggae Sumfest every year. Reggae Sumfest features top reggae talent to entertain and attract thousands of tourists from around the world and is often dubbed as ‘the greatest reggae show on earth’.
Bob Marley is known as the greatest reggae icon on the planet. This influential musician developed the genre reggae in his home country, Jamaica. Marley died at the age of 36 after devoting much of his life to music.
First staged in 1993 by Summerfest Productions, Reggae Sumfest quickly became popular not only in Jamaica but throughout the world. The festival has successfully incorporated international artists to the line up such as Usher, Chris Brown, Kanye West, Rihanna, etc in past few years. This year?s line-up includes Sean Paul, Wiz Khalifa, Jason Derulo and many other international artists. The festival kicks off with its Sumfest Beach Party on 13th July with a great selection of DJs. The remaining days of the festival are followed by All White Party, Dance Hall Night and International Nights showcasing top performers.
