In his complaint he also said while they were trying to inform the police, one of the girls escaped. “Police have recovered the notes on which I have signed my name. The note was recovered from the possession of the woman,” reads Rakesh’s statement to police.
A2Z News declined comment on the role of its crew in the arrest of the women.
NDTV reporter assaulted by stringer
New Delhi: A crime reporter working with NDTV news channel was allegedly held captive and assaulted by the a stringer for the company in Najafgarh, Southwest Delhi.
Mukesh Senger told police that he was asked by his seniors at the office to speak to the stringer, Naveen Kumar, against whom there had been several complaints of blackmail.
Mukesh said he was asked by the office to find out if Naveen had been blackmailing builders in the area.
“I was asked to talk to the stringer and a property dealer to verify if the allegations were true. At 1.30 pm, I reached Najafgarh, where I met a property agent. The property dealer, named Sri Bhagwan, told me that the stringer was threatening to conduct a sting operation on him. Later, I got a call from Naveen who asked me to meet him at Gopal Nagar,” the FIR stated.
Mukesh said he met Naveen in Gopal Nagar. “He thrashed me and held me at gunpoint. At gunpoint I was taken to a nearby building where I was locked. I was beaten (up) but managed to escape,” the complaint read. Naveen has been arrested.
