Taking Maruti, Hyundai and Renault head on in the fastest-growing SUV segment in India, Ford India on Wednesday launched compact utility vehicle Freestyle, its latest global product that boasts of SUV-like design, innovative in-car technology and better fuel efficiency. The Freestyle comes with an all-new 1.2 litre three-cylinder petrol engine, offering best-in-class 96PS peak power and 120 Nm torque and it has connected vehicle feature SYNC 3 system with a high-resolution 6.5-inch touchscreen. Compact SUVs alone, a segment that Ford pioneered with the EcoSport, have consistently outpaced overall automotive sales in India.
