University of Pune (UoP) on Wednesday appointed a three-member expert panel to look into the allegations of MBA third semester paper leak, and a report will be submitted by them to the vice-chancellor in a week’s time.
“We came to know of these rumors yesterday. I don’t think that there is any leak. But just to rule out any doubt, I have formed this panel,” said WN Gade, Vice Chancellor, UoP. “The panel members are experts in their field and any wrongdoing will be reported. Although officially, the submission date is within one week, I have asked them to submit the report in 3 days,” Gade said.
A third semester Finance Management student named Damon from Nashik had come forward with the information of paper leaks. He said he received text messages on topics from which questions used to appear for the next day’s exam. “I got a text yesterday night as well. Till now, all the texts had 70-100% topic ratio match with the original question paper. But today’s paper was different from the text I received. There is a probability that UoP has changed the paper at the last moment,” said Damon.
His allegations were refuted by Gade. University’s Controller of Examination, Sampada Joshi too denied the paper leak allegation, saying that the question paper was verified yesterday. “These kind of rumors spread like wildfire and spoils the image of the university. It also creates distress among students who are appearing for the examination.”
